The Florida Brawl

I needed to rattle off a blog regarding the brawl in Florida this past weekend. I heard that the ACC suspeneded many players for a grand total of one game. This is absolutely ridiculous!! All right, so the other week during an NFL game Titans' Haynesworth stomped on the face of Gurode who was lying on the ground not protected. Haynesworth got a five game suspension. I believe that the ACC should be more strict with their players then the NFL.
How wrong could I be? If you know the south and the ACC Saturday college football is life. Clearly why would you want to upset the fans watching the games every saturday? A one game suspension with Merryweather stomping on peoples legs, arms and back another using his helmet as a weapon and they get a one game suspension? ONE GAME? Please clearly the ACC is not focused on discipline and is looking toward whats better for them, the teams, and game. Not teaching the football players what they should be learning. I am very dissapointed in ther weak decision for such a short suspension. So I am pretty angry right now. I should have known the ACC would make this kind of decision, I lived down there for awile and know how important all of this "college football" is to them. I do know that Florida International personally dismissed players and suspened others indefinitly. Thank you to FIU.

The "Jet Setter" and Sweet Home, Chicago

This weekend I hopped on a plane and did a whirlwind midwest tour. I flew in to O'Hare on Thursady night (got in late d/t wind) and Dad drove me home to good 'ole Sconny. (Regina at work said "Boy your Dad must really love you!" and I said "Yep") I spent a chilly Friday in WI and hung out with the fam. A lovely fire, a bowl of chili with cornbread, and a good movie. It was nice to sit with the four of us and just chat. I do miss the four of us being together.
Saturday I took the Amtrak downtown and hung around the city for the day. I spent some one on one time with my cuz Hannah which was good. I met up wit my old friend KP for some dinner before she went into work and then I headed off to see The Pirate Queen on a pre-Broadway run. It was a beautiful program. I flew through New York on my way back to Baltimore and saw all the major New York sights from the plane. It was gorgeous outside.
The funny thing is I was asked for directions twice in ten minutes mere steps from the train station after I entered the city. Clearly my approachablity for directions has not changed. What can I say? It was good to be home. I do miss Chicago and my friends there. I am sorry I did not stop to see you all. I will be sure to stop by over the holidays! Oh by the way, I was asked for directions twice in Baltimore on my way home.

HUH I CANT HEAR YOU!

So I was riding the Metro out of the city the other day at around 8:30pm and its nice and quiet in the car. The trains stops at Mondawmin and a younger guy with ear buds in steps on. He looks around and says: "IS THIS THE TRAIN TO OWINGS MILLS?!" A few people snicker someone shouts back "YEP!" and the guy says "OH GOOD I WAS SITTIN" THERE LISTENING TO MY MUSIC THE TRAIN GOT HERE AND I WAS LIKE WHA? AND CLIMBED ON A TRAIN" More people snickering. The guy stopped any conversation in the car. He didn't stop there. "OH YOU GOT A BIKE? HOW NICE IS THAT I WOULD LOVE TO RIDE AROUND ON A BIKE" People at this point are trying to give him the hint that he is talking too loud. "OH CAN I SIT HERE NO NO NO DONT MOVE YOUR STUFF IT IS OKAY. LEAVE IT THERE!" pause "LOVELY DAY TODAY GLAD TO BE GOING HOME" I smiled. He stopped talking and the rest of the ride was pretty quiet.
