Forgivness and Saddness

Today will be a day of forgiveness. I have come to forgive JP Batista for a good game with a bad ending. After all, the guy is just a kid, right? For non-Zags fans reading my blog he was the partial cause of the loss to UCLA on Thursday night. Aside from the fact that UCLA scored the last 11 points of the game, JP did not have a good ending like he wanted. Or so I assume.
You see, Mr. Batista fouled a UCLA player which got them to the line in the last remaining seconds/minute of the game. When the Zags were inbounding the ball, it was stolen from JP and a basket made. So you can sense my frustration. But as I said UCLA came back and the Zags didn't score so it is not entirely his fault. There is no JP in team after all. But the hardest thing of all was seeing the 'stache on the floor.

It made me want to cry. But as a friend once said: "Noelle is capable of rolling up her feelings into a big ball and throwing them over her shoulder." So in other words, I didn't. Cry I mean. Don't talk to me about the game. It still hurts.

Characters Welcome?

The city is a place that can never cease to amaze me. Allow me to elaborate. You can meet the widest variety of characters in the city. Characters you will never meet in the suburbs where you seem to come in contact with a lot less people. A couple of examples:

I was heading home around 11:30 or midnight last night and managed to see:
1. A very drunk man swearing on the L telling his stories to everyone while spilling alcohol everywhere. Every other word was a swear.
2. A man in a white terrycloth bathrobe doing karate moves on the sidewalk while it was snowing. (I don't believe he was drunk) He was talking with two ordinary looking men.
3. Two women making out at a bus stop.
4. Fifteen people in residential Chicago (on my street) taking pictures and yelling cheers of some sort.
5. A man explaining to a White Hen employee how he met a woman named Anna (ah-na) when he was married to an Anna (ann-nah) and had the guy every called his wife Anna when her name was Anna? It was unlcear to me if he was having an affair with Anna or he had merely mistakenly called his wife Anna by that name. all I know was that he was in trouble with her.
6. A petite girl with pink hair walking a dog the size of a pony.
7. A burly man with brown hair walking a dog the size of a cat.

Sometimes I miss the burbs.

Madness of March

Prepare yourself one and all for the finest time of the year!!!! What time of year? College hoops time of the year. NCAA Divison I basketall. I think this is by far the most exciting time for me as far as sports. What did I say? Something against the Green Bay Packers? Nay. I say something for college athletes playing their heart out every game. From 65 teams on down it is pure fun. Well, almost. When your team loses it takes some of the fun out of it but hey, we can all recover, right? So sit back and enjoy hours on end of Selection Sunday, buzzer beaters, bracket busters and big wins. Heres hoping the Zags get a high rank like they deserve and nobody calls it the "NC two A" which I hate!
