My Butt Was Sweating

Today was a busy day. I wanted it that way and it went quite well. I got out of bed about 0800 and showered (felt much better) ate a granola bar and decided what to do. I decided to go see the Great Temple and a whole bunch of whats (the oldest, the largest laying down Buddha so on and so forth) On my way out I spoke a few words with an English couple who were traveling, have grandkids and lived in a Bungalow on the beach for acouple months at one point. They were very kind and I followed them to the Sky Train (a clean fast version of the El with less weird people and nicer cars) They showed me the ropes and basically told me how to tour today. I took their advice made a transfer on the train and stopped by the river. I bought an tour boat ticket and went up the river. On the way up the river I meet a family from Miami who I ended up being with a good part of the day. Two parents and a daughter all teachers in Boca Raton. It was nice to share the time with someone. They took some pictures with me, we rode the boats together and toured the temples and the palace together. I ate luch with them as well. Mom I had Rice with green curry chicken with what tasted like tiny eggplants. There were basil leaves in it and it had a tiny kick to it.
It got quite hot later in the day. Sweat dripping down your leg kind of hot. Without the breeze it was quite obnoxious. The next time I stepped in air conditioning I was not quite ready for it. I know in real life I could do without it now! After everyone saying how hot it was here it is, but I don't think I will be running around in a loin cloth anytime soon. I did forget to put on sunscreen. OOPS!!!!
I found out that in Friday they are having a huge procession on the river because it will be the day that Thailand has the longest reigning monarch(y). Not sure if it is monarch or monarchy but a lot of people wearing shirts that say "long live the king" in Thai. The miami group is leaving early to avoid the crowd. I would like to come back and see it.
I am sure many of you never thought I would hook up with people and spend the day with them without being invited (the Miami group). It goes to show how different I can be then even I expect!!! Lovin' Bankok and can't wait for my next adventure. Drinking plenty of water no soda and eating even less (too hot to eat I think). So here I sit with a bun that is supposed to be "to die for" it is interesting. Sweet yet bready with melted butter in the middle. Something I think my dad would like. Blogging away. Drop me an e-mail everyone! More to come.
